Just racking some participation points! Who's excited for the Dubliners test?!?!
Oh but a real discussion: did you guys think that Dubliners was a wholly pessimistic book like the question suggested? I thought no but i wanted to hear your thoughts!!!

  1. Well I'm not at all excited for the Dubliners test! I'm very worried about it :( I thought Dubliners was pretty pessimistic because most of the stories were sad and hopeless. But then again I could be wrong! Still, most of the book was depressing but I really enjoyed Araby that was my favorite!

  2. I thought it was pessimistic and depressing not but wholly pessimistic. I mean there were a few not depressing moments in the book. I actually like Dubliners now. I don't really mind reading the stories over again. It's still not one of my favorites and probably never will be but I like it a lot better than I did in the beginning. :)

  3. I will be honest, when I read these comments, I tried to "like" them. Facebook has completely taken over my life. However, I agree with both of you girls! It was pretty depressing but there was hope for some of the people in the stories and like Chelsea said today in class, I now respect Dubliners and don't have to complain about it, but I wouldn't choose to check it out from Bridgman Public Library and give it a good read. :)
